Welfare check leads to man’s body

The name of a man whose body was found in the woods of McDowell County, North Carolina, during a welfare check was released Wednesday.The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office said the name of the victim is Tommy Allen Woody, 51, of Marion.Deputies said they were called to North Fork River Drive to do a welfare check on a person in the woods at around 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 30. They said they found a man dead in the wooded area.
