Jack Lynn factor now more important for Orlando City SC

And sometimes fans ask: What should he do? He and head coach Oscar Pareja have an answer.

Lynn only started collecting accolades last year while playing for Orlando City B. After winning the Golden Boot, he was named in the MLS NEXT Pro Best XI. Since the start of last season, he has scored 34 goals, making him the league's all-time leading goalscorer.

He was promoted to the first team and scored his first MLS goal in Orlando City's first win this season.

It happened in a situation similar to today. International call-ups had left gaps in the squad, so Lynn was in the starting line-up for this match. They were away to Austin FC. Midfielder Dagur Thorhallsson served the ball into the box, where Lynn fired the ball home.

He also completed one tackle and won one duel.

When the team is not partially weakened by call-ups, Lynn is just as valuable, according to Pareja. Firstly, he brings the concentration and consistent effort that he learned in the B team. On the bench, he concentrates on the game as if he could be called onto the field at any moment.

Pareja describes his commitment as follows: He is always there when the team needs him in a situation.

It was the 15th minute when Lynn came on as a substitute against the San Jose Earthquakes this season. Lynn said all substitutes prepare for game situations as if they were starting, so being substituted early didn't add any extra challenge.

In his vision, he followed midfielder Martin Ojeda sprinting along the touchline. He played the ball to Lynn, who made another pass that went in.

In total, he has made 16 appearances for the first team, including 10 this season. He has scored two goals from six shots on goal. In the 250 minutes he has played this season, he has won 25% of his 16 aerial duels.

Pareja sees Lynn as someone who is focused on helping Orlando City SC save their season, whether he's in the starting lineup or coming on as a substitute.

And his skills are still evolving and getting better.
