Health officials warn North Dakota residents about recalled Diamond Shruumz™ products

FARGO, ND (Valley News Live) – North Dakota Health and Human Services is warning the state’s population about a recalled product.

Last month, the FDA announced a company recall involving Prophet Premium Blends Diamond ShruumzTM candy bars, bags, gummies and similar products.

The FDA recall indicates that the products may contain toxic levels of muscimol.

Officials say the stores that sell these products may not be licensed or regulated by the government, and certain products can still be purchased through multiple channels.

According to the CDC, 48 cases have been reported in 24 states. 46 of the 48 people sought medical care, 27 of whom were hospitalized.

The Department of Health and Poison Control Center have identified a death in North Dakota that may be linked to Diamond ShruumzTM brand products.

The exact cause has not yet been confirmed, but investigations by several authorities are ongoing.

Symptoms included seizures, loss of consciousness, confusion, drowsiness, abnormal heart rate, high or low blood pressure, nausea and vomiting.

In total, there are 22 different flavors on the recall list.
