“It really feels like your own luxury resort within a resort,” said broker Kelly Ruddell of the Katie McGuirk Team, Ansley Real Estate | Christie's International Real Estate. “There are so many outdoor entertaining areas.”

The 12,000-acre community on Reynolds Lake Oconee has 5,660 households and 375 miles of shoreline, she said. Many of the households are second home owners.

Resort amenities include six golf courses, tennis, pickleball, four marinas, 11 restaurants, a Ritz-Carlton, swimming, a gym, a spa and 21 miles of hiking and biking trails, according to the Reynolds Lake Oconee website.

“Everything is scattered around the lake,” Ruddell said. “They're constantly building new houses.”

The 7.09-acre main lot, which the current owners purchased in the early 2000s, is home to the 13,500-square-foot main house, a pool house and entertainment facilities, according to the listing. The open 5.43-acre lot, which the owners purchased in 2018, has room for additional construction and a separate Reynolds Members Reserve.

“One of my favorite spots on the property is the lookout point,” Ruddell said. “It has water, power and audio, so it's easy to host guests there. It faces west, so it offers great sunsets.”

The home on Linger Longer Drive was designed by Beck Architecture and built by Taylor Custom Homes in 2006, the listing says.

The front door opens to a large foyer and a two-story great room with panoramic views, hand-hewn beams, hickory floors and a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace, Ruddell said. The space features a full-service bar and a piano nook “that opens to a circular dining room that feels like a treehouse.”

The oversized kitchen has custom cabinets, an island and a dining table, she said. The year-round room has additional dining and seating areas.

The second floor master bedroom suite overlooks the living area and features a double-sided limestone fireplace, balcony and walk-in closet.

All bedrooms have access to the outside, Ruddell said, giving them the feel of “hotel rooms.”

The lower floor, which has an exit, has a game room, shuffleboard, pool table, bar and two bedrooms, she said. The fifth bedroom is in the pool house, which is modeled after the main house. “It has a great view of the lake and the pool.”

Neighborhood notes

It takes about ten minutes to get to the city center by car, says Ruddell. Greensboro is about 140 kilometers east of Atlanta.

“It's between Atlanta and Augusta, so it's well located,” she said. There's a private airport about 20 minutes from the house.
