Ravens have named a landing spot for a former Pro Bowler who would help them continue the difficult trend of the AFC North

It was an interesting offseason for the Baltimore Ravens, who saw several of their free agents sign with other teams in the AFC North.

Quarterback Tyler Huntley went to the Cleveland Browns and safety Geno Stone ended up with the Cincinnati Bengals. Perhaps worst of all, Patrick Queen ended up with the Pittsburgh Steelers, a team that you just know will use him right.

After Queen, the Ravens prepare to work on second-year linebacker Trenton Simpson. Simpson will be fortunate to have Roquan Smith by his side to learn from.

With a few weeks left until training camp begins, the Ravens could still be looking to complete their roster. Bleacher Report brought up the idea that linebacker Kwon Alexander could be a fit for them, and that could make a lot of sense.

“A return to Pittsburgh is unlikely as the Steelers signed Patrick Queen and drafted Payton Wilson to bolster their linebacker corps. However, the rival Baltimore Ravens could potentially use Alexander as a replacement for Queen.”

Injuries have been the main theme of Alexander's career, but the Ravens wouldn't need to put him in a situation where he'll be used frequently. He could be another veteran linebacker with plenty of experience to complement Simpson and the rest of the young defensive linemen.

Alexander played in nine games last season before suffering an Achilles injury. Since being drafted in 2015, Alexander has played two full seasons in his NFL career. Alexander had 41 tackles, one sack and one interception in the limited role he had for Pittsburgh in 2023.

Alexander will soon be 30 years old, but he won't cost a fortune and will only have a one-year deal from now on. On paper, this is a good option for the Ravens. In the end, Baltimore could sign a free agent from another AFC North team.

The Ravens are looking to make the Super Bowl in 2024 after narrowly missing out last season, and any help they get could be just another piece of the puzzle to achieve that goal.
