Fourth of July celebrations in northeast Georgia

This is your guide to the 4th of July celebrations in Northeast Georgia. If you plan to attend these events, bring water and wallets. You'll need to stay hydrated in this mid-summer heat and you may have to pay for parking and activities.

4th of July

Dahlonega

Patriotic parade in the city center starts at 3pm and goes through the town square. The best place to see the parade is at the courthouse. The adventure zone for children opens at 4 p.m. in Hancock Park, right next to Dahlonega's historic square at the corner of North Park and Warwick Streets. There will be face painting, caricatures and games for the whole family. Free concert in the park Start 18:30 Fireworks on the parade ground Start at dusk.

Demo rest

Wonderful 4th of July Activities begin at 2 p.m. in downtown Demorest with arts and crafts booths and food. Demorest Springs Park will have a petting zoo, bounce houses, cornhole and horseshoe tournaments. The parade begins at 4 p.m. on Central Avenue/Historic Hwy. 441. Concerts in the park begin at 6 p.m. with the Joe Olds Band, followed by John Berry from 7:45 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. Fireworks will be set off behind City Hall at 250 Alabama Street around 9:45 p.m.

Dillard

The City of Dillard The fireworks start at dusk. The annual fireworks display can be viewed from Dillard and Rabun Gap.

The Dillard House will be hosting its annual barbecue from 5:30-8:00 p.m. There will be live entertainment from Hunter Grayson of Athens, Georgia to listen and dance to.

Gainesville

60th Annual Independence Day Celebration at Laurel Park. Gates open at 9 a.m. for an all-day celebration with craft vendors, food trucks, music, water features and more. Fireworks begin at dusk. Admission is $10 per car. Bring your lawn chairs. Laurel Park is located at 3100 Old Cleveland Highway.

Helen

Annual 4th of July Independence Day celebrations and fireworks from 9:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. behind the Alpine Village Shoppes and the Helen Welcome Center. Come early, bring your chairs and find the perfect spot. The Helen Welcome Center is located at 726 Bridge Street.

tiger

Stonewall Creek Vineyards There will be live music. Bryant Tench will provide entertainment from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The location is 323 Standing Deer Lane, Tiger.

5th July

Lake of Seed

The Seed Lake Fireworks The show begins at 9 p.m. There are only a few areas of the shore from which you can see the fireworks. The best view is from a boat. Seed Lake residents pay for the fireworks and fireboat.

Heavenly Valley

The big parade in Sky Valley begins at 11:15 a.m. on Tahoe Lane and ends at Sky Valley Park. Parade participants will receive awards and the Master of Ceremonies in the stands will announce the parade participants. All participants should be on Tahoe Lane by 10:45 a.m.

Fireworks will be shown and begins at 9.15 p.m. over the lake near the golf course.

July 6

Lake Burton

The Independence Day fireworks begins at 9:30 p.m. at the south end of Billy Goat Island, Lake Burton. You can watch the fireworks by boat or from a boathouse. A donation of $100 per family is suggested.

tiger

The Tiger Drive-In is hosting its annual fireworks and movie event. The drive-in is located at 2956 Old 441 South, Tiger. The movie Despicable Me 4 starts at 9:30 p.m., with fireworks right before the movie starts. There is a playground for children and a concession stand.

7th of July

The Rabunsee

The wooden boat parade on Lake Rabun It starts at 10:30 a.m. at Mathis Dam. This year the parade will be led by Admiral Thad Warren.
