3-star WR Gio Richardson from the state commits to Arizona Football

Arizona Football continues to fill out its class of 2025 and has received a commitment from wide receiver Gio Richardson, a three-star player from the state.

It's been a busy month for head coach Brent Brennan and Arizona football, and although it's been a while since the Wildcats' last commitment, Arizona has now added another player for the class of 2025.

It was only fitting that state wide receiver Gio Richardson chose the red, white and blue this Fourth of July and officially joined the Cats despite holding offers from Kansas State, Arizona State, San Diego State and UNLV, among others.

The standout player from Basha High School in the Chandler area announced his decision via social media: He will stay home and continue his football career in Tucson!

If you've been following events, you'll have noticed that Arizona Football has had a nice mix of signings over the past few weeks, and with the signing of Gio Richardson, he will help add strength and depth to the Wildcats' receiver staff.

Although he's a little smaller, Gio is more of a slot receiver and was very productive last season at Basha High School. As a junior, he caught 55 passes for 893 yards and ten touchdowns in 12 games. He also pulled double duty on special teams and was an excellent kick returner for the Bears!

At the next level, he will likely be used as a slot receiver as well, but overall he has a nice burst of speed off the line of scrimmage, creates solid separation, and runs clean routes. He's a kid with a lot of potential and will likely be a nice addition once he gets to the next level and continues to develop and mature!

He's the No. 7 ranked kid in the state of Arizona according to 247's composite rankings and is a talented kid with a lot of potential and upside. Just check out his film here!
