“Where are you?” Hartford | Connecticut Public

In this episode of Where are you? Ray revisits Hartford to learn more about the young artists and entrepreneurs who are finding success in the capital city. Ray stops by The CAF by Cafeteria, a boutique in downtown Hartford curated by Joshua Jenkins. The CAF specializes in high-end fashion and lifestyle products sourced from local, national and international designers. The space also serves as a host for impromptu events such as listening parties and product launches for the creative community.

Ray's first artist visit is with Lindaluz Carrillo, also known as Airis. While she is perhaps best known for her uplifting and colorful public murals, the Afro-Peruvian artist also dabbles in other mediums such as textiles, sculpture, and digital media. She talks to Ray about being creative from a young age, studying art, and the spiritual side of making art.

The Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art is the oldest operating public art museum in the United States. During this visit, Ray goes behind the scenes of the museum's conservation studio with Director of Conservation Allen Kosanovich. Allen shows us what goes into restoring and preserving the collection so the art can be enjoyed long into the future.

Recording artist and producer Dom McLennon has returned to Hartford after nearly a decade as a member of the boy band Brockhampton. He has launched a creative agency called COURTVISION, specializing in digital media and creative support. Ray talks to Dom about what it was like to have a major record deal, release a new EP as a solo artist, and why it was so important for him to launch COURTVISION in Hartford.
