In Defense of the Wild with Taylor Ganz | Features

Taylor Ganz worked as a climbing guide in the mountains of southern Idaho and fly fished the Big Wood River in her youth. She recently accepted a position as the new science director at The Nature Conservancy of Idaho, based in Hailey.

“I'm excited to join the team,” said Ganz, 37. “My goal is to think nationally and regionally and make sure Idaho fits into that larger vision.”

The Nature Conservancy is a global nonprofit organization with offices in all 52 states and affiliates in 79 countries worldwide. In 2022, the TNC had total assets of $9 billion and managed $4 billion to support global activities and conservation projects. Over 400 scientists work for the TNC worldwide.
