Arizona Cardinals TE is underrated

ARIZONA – The Arizona Cardinals have some top players who go unnoticed each season, and 2024 offers a handful of players the chance to develop into true stars.

Arizona's roster is loaded with talent, but who deserves more recognition heading into training camp?

According to CBS Sports, Cardinals TE Trey McBride is Arizona's most underrated player.

“McBride has rewrote the record books for tight ends in Arizona. In just his second season, McBride set the franchise record for most receptions in a season by a tight end (81) and has the most receiving yards by a tight end since the franchise moved to Arizona in 1988 (825),” wrote Jeff Kerr.

“Only Jackie Smith (1,205 receiving yards in 1967) has more receiving yards as a tight end in a season for the franchise than McBride, who was the best receiving option in Arizona last year. Smith had the six best seasons for receiving yards as a tight end for the franchise until McBride last year.

“With a salary cap hit of just $1,718,089 in 2024, McBride is one of the most valuable tight ends in the league. He is ready for another great season.”

There are a few other players who meet our requirements.

Jalen Thompson has always gone unnoticed in the league, despite putting up good numbers as a safety every year. James Conner is also still not considered one of the better running backs in the league, although the data suggests otherwise.

For the Cardinals as a whole, this could be the case as they look to 2024, although they will still have plenty of opportunity to make a name for themselves.
