Police are investigating after a teenager was shot in the parking lot of an apartment complex in East Bridgewater, Massachusetts, on Thursday night.

Shortly before 9 p.m., police responded to the Pompohono Pines Condos area on Robins Street and found a 17-year-old who had been shot in the stomach.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for further treatment, police said.

According to initial police investigations, the victim and another 17-year-old man were riding a scooter at the time of the shooting. The police do not believe that this was a random incident.
