Ole Miss Swiss Army Knife: Trenton Lyons transfers to NC State!

Vanderbilt-transfer 1st baseman Matt Ossenfort has committed to NC State.

Ossenfort played in just six games last season, including 12 as a freshman at Vandy, and posted a .182 batting average. Both of his hits were extra-base hits, including a home run and a double.

Ossenfort came from Major Stoneman Douglas in Florida and was ranked as the 10th best first baseman in the country and the second best first baseman in the Sunshine State in the 2024 recruiting class.

As a senior at Majory Stoneman Douglas, Ossenfort had a .392 batting average with 10 home runs and 35 RBI.

Ossenfort reached the portal again on June 17.

He currently plays for the Newport Gulls in the New England Summer League.

Ossenfort could join former high school teammate Devin Fitz-Gerald, who is part of the Wolfpack's freshman recruiting class next season at NC State. Fitz-Gerald is eligible to vote.

After the exodus of Garrett Pennington, Ossenfort will try to step in next season and fight for the starting spot at 1st base.

Ossenfort is NC State 4th Place Member of the Wolf Pack’s 2024 transfer class:
