It will remain hot with isolated storms in Central Florida. What to expect

ORLANDO, Florida. – In Central Florida, temperatures will reach about 90 degrees Fahrenheit (32 degrees Celsius) near the coast and between 95 and 104 degrees Fahrenheit (35 and 40 degrees Celsius) inland Friday afternoon.

The heat index rose to 43 degrees in many cities and will likely remain in the triple digits throughout the region until late afternoon. A heat warning is in effect for several districts until 6 p.m. Friday.

Heat warning and current perceived temperatures

On Friday, the east coast sea breeze will move inland and later meet the west coast sea breeze. This pattern will likely result in most of the storms being concentrated over the western counties by the evening.

There is a slight chance of rain near the coast (10-20%), but further inland along I-4 and to the west the chance of rain is higher (50-60%).

After sunset, most of the showers and thunderstorms should subside, but the sky will remain cloudy. At night, temperatures will drop to 25 to 30 degrees.

This type of weather situation continues to be influenced by a strong high pressure system that creates dangerous heat.

Typical summer storms are expected to continue over the next few days.
