Farmersburg couple dies in accident on Illinois 133 | Local news

A couple from Farmersburg, Indiana, died in a two-vehicle crash in Edgar County, Illinois, on Saturday, the Edgar County Coroner said.

Kenneth Ming, 50, and Donna Ming, 54, were dead, said coroner Scott Barrett.

Dispatchers were notified of a car-motorcycle accident on Illinois 133, about 2 miles west of the town of Redmon, at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

The coroner said the accident occurred when a westbound Ford Explorer crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with an eastbound motorcycle driven by Kenneth Ming. The motorcycle veered onto the southbound shoulder of the highway but was unable to avoid the head-on collision.

Kenneth Ming succumbed to his injuries immediately. Passenger Devona Ming was treated on site by Horizon Health Ambulance staff, but resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful.

The official cause of death is still pending until autopsies are performed on Monday. Springfield, Illinois, forensic pathologist Dr. Nate Patterson.

The The collision remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police and the Edgar County Sheriff's and Coroner's Office.

Responding agencies included the Edgar County Sheriff's Department, Kansas Police Department, Illinois State Police, Horizon Health EMS, Oakland Ambulance Service, Paris Fire Department, Redmon Fire Department, Oakland Fire Department and the coroner's office.
