NORMAL, Fig. – The Illinois State Department of Athletics has announced the return of “Ballin' on Beaufort” presented by Bloomington Normal Automall, a preseason men's and women's basketball event to be held Thursday, Oct. 17, on East Beaufort Street between the Circle and Linden Streets in Uptown Normal.

The event, held in cooperation with the city of Normal, begins at 5 p.m. with a fan festival, and at 6:30 p.m. the program begins with the introduction of the players and subsequent competitions at a temporary field designated for the state of Illinois on East Beaufort Street.

“Ballin' on Beaufort was a tremendous success in its first year and we look forward to reconnecting with our community this fall,” said the head coach of the men's basketball team Ryan Pedon. “The uniqueness of the setting and the interactive approach of the event made for a fun evening under the stars for all ages. We look forward to a great evening on Thursday, October 17th.”

“We are excited to bring Ballin' on Beaufort back to Uptown,” said the head coach of the women's basketball team Kristen Gillespie said. “I can't wait to see how this event grows this year. It's such a cool and interactive way to introduce both programs to our community.”

Following the event, there will be a meet-and-greet with the teams and an autograph signing session. Fans are also welcome to linger at one of the many restaurants and bars near the festivities.
