Entergy Texas Storm Update – 7/11/24, 1:00 p.m.

Entergy Texas crews continue to make progress and have successfully restored power to nearly 60% of the 252,460 customers affected by the storm. As of 1 p.m. Thursday, power had been restored to approximately 149,400 customers.

Many of the remaining outages affect severely damaged areas that require extensive repairs. Damage assessment is ongoing, but recent reports indicate 407 poles have fallen, 202 transformers have been damaged, 614 crossbeams have broken, and about 200,000 meters of lines need to be replaced.

Entergy Texas has a recovery team of more than 2,400 employees working around the clock to make repairs. Specialized equipment, such as helicopters, is being used to reach hard-hit areas. Some customers may have service restored sooner, but the table below shows estimated restoration dates based on current damage assessments and weather forecasts.

Customers should note that occasionally the company will restore power to an area only to discover another problem. This may require another power shutoff to make additional repairs. Crews will also make initial repairs in some areas to restore power to as many customers as possible. Crews will then need to return, unplug customers, and make additional long-term repairs.
